CANNED FOOD DRIVE REVIEW: Actions and Impacts

Updated: Jun 23, 2021

On a beautiful sunny morning, we held our first donation drive at STOP! Our goal was to go to a local neighborhood and collect canned food for the Edmonds Food Bank.

We knocked on every door in the neighborhood and were surprised at the generosity. Some people just gave us one can from their pantry. Others handed us an entire bag full of food.

We collected enough to fill our entire trunk!

Many kids rely on their school for food, so with summer underway, the need increases for families who struggle to put food on the table.

A few days after the drive, we dropped off the food at Edmonds Food Bank and were greeted by Casey Davis, the Executive Director and she helped us weigh the food.

We ended up collecting 192 pounds of food or enough food to last 7 people a week!

It was really fun and inspiring to get to do this canned food drive! It showed me that even kids can make a huge difference in someone's life.

Stay tuned for more events coming in July!
